Hotel at Batavia Downs

Great experience! We will be back! -- Not a thing! -- Unfortunately I didn't catch any names. -- Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient! -- Bathroom was huge, water pressure great and water got hot (a huge plus in my book.) -- Very impressed with the breakfast! Eggs were hot and very tasty, bacon was delicious and yey for biscuits! My husband had the chipped beef and said it was very good! The staff working the breakfast area was friendly, inviting and kept the area spotless. -- Bed was very comfy, great selection of pillows and room large and comfortable. Sheets and towels were good quality and smelled fresh. -- Staff were perfect! -- Were there for a work Christmas party, we were very pleased with everything! Buffet had a good selection! Our server was very attractive.

Did not make up my room...there were 3 people. We needed maid service. We did not have the privacy sign on the door but they skipped us anyway. At check out, the attendant noted she had just seen my posted review. She asked for more detail and I again explained that with 3 adults in one room, we really need maid service and were disappointed that we did not receive it despite ensuring that our privacy sign was not on the door. Sadly, she explained that this was the policy of the hotel. Rooms do not get made up unless guests specifically ask for it. Her attitude about it was cold. She expressed no sympathy for our situation, just restated policy. The interesting thing to me is that the policy is not stated anywhere that I saw. It was not mentioned during check-in and there was no sign that I saw in the room. It was not on the privacy card on the doorknob. If it is indeed listed somewhere, it is not obvious nor adequate. One can only surmise that they are trying to save money by hiring fewer housekeepers - all the while blaming COVID....an excuse that is old and tired. PS. Sound control was poor...it often sounded like people were stomping their feet above us when I'm sure they were just walking normally.

Was there for NYE party. The party itself was pretty decent but the band didn't play a ton of music you can dance to. Most of the time the dance floor was empty or most people had left to just go to the casino. The worst part of the entire night was my fiancé and i went to gamble. We went to a machine and combined our tickets to play in a machine in the high roller room. We played a bunch of spins and what not and cashed out. About 15 minutes later a casino employee came and hunted us down in front of friend's as we were gambling to tell us someone had left money in the machine we were playing and we needed to pay it back ASAP. He then walked us up to the cashier cage like we were thieves. Now i get that wasn't our money in the machine and nor was it a lot to begin with. We had zero idea because we combined our tickets to play and neither had a clue as to what each had on them to play. But the fact that the employee was RUDE was more than enough for us to just cash out our money, and we didn't gamble again the rest of the evening or morning. We just left our free play tickets there and took off.

I cannot think of one thing to change -- Works at check in check out are always doing the best to please. Awesome group of people -- Very polite as always. The staff is always ready to please -- Perfect -- We love the hot breakfast. Best part of our stay -- We always eat at 34rush. Perfect -- Perfect -- Always will to help.

Me and my sister will be coming back we can't complain about anything. Everyone and everything was absolutely beautiful. -- Rachel and the young lady who worked with her on October 18, 2023.
